Position Description

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Development Manager will provide key support for donor development, as well as the creation of an annual development plan to further fundraising goals for the organization.

The Development Manager will lead efforts to ensure that the organization captures and utilizes relational information from constituents, foster relationships with current and prospective individual and corporate donors, and assist with constituent communications that support fundraising and volunteer engagement for the organization.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Drive engagement, motivation and growth of the grassroots and recurring donor base to meet annual fundraising goals
  • Assist Executive Director with growing grant opportunities, developing grant proposals, and maintaining grant tracker
  • Steward corporate giving, including Pride season fundraisers
  • Support fundraising event management, including board engagement with events 
  • Maintain organizational compliance with Give Nebraska membership, including but not limited to, attending meetings, committee participation, and donor data management
  • Enter and manage constituent and gift data in EveryAction including crafting reports, activist codes, creating forms, etc.
  • Create effective fundraising and stewardship communications (both electronic and mail)
  • Manage administrative tasks including, but not limited to, Google Workspace, bank deposits, invoices, documents, supplies, etc. (requires at least one day per week in Lincoln office), and Board of Directors support
  • Other activities as identified or directed 

Candidate Profile

  • Superior phone, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented work practices, including physical and digital organization skills
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Ability to engage easily and naturally with anyone and to work effectively with diverse constituents, community members, volunteers, and colleagues
  • A self-starter attitude with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Collaboration on team efforts
  • Management of multiple tasks and deadlines
  • This position may require the ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel in the state. Travel will be dependent on the current status of COVID-19 pandemic.


  • Experience with data management best practices 
  • Experience with CRM software (SalesForce, HubSpot, etc.) with experience with EveryAction or NPGVAN preferred
  • Two or more years fundraising experience

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary is anticipated to be $48,000 – $51,000. OutNebraska offers a healthcare stipend, a cell phone stipend, and a retirement match, as well as generous PTO and holiday time–off benefits.
