Addiction Resource was founded in 2014 to provide a community for those recovering from addiction and to help patients find the highest quality care for a successful recovery. Our goal is to provide resources to help patients and their loved ones so that they may stay on the road to recovery, and can successfully overcome addiction for life. We believe in our ability to help improve the lives of others, and belief is what motivates us to educate and support our readers every day.

Addiction Resource is not a treatment center and does not accept payments or advertising offers. Instead, we work to provide free resources to help people better understand their addiction and motivate them to make the first step in seeking support.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) has embraced the achievement of equity in cancer-related health outcomes as a foundational principle. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals experience health disparities related to certain risk factors for cancer and in certain cancer outcomes. Accordingly, the ACS is defining a new program of work in partnership with the LGBT community to help understand and reduce disparities in cancer risk factors and outcomes.

The American Cancer Society believes all individuals—regardless of race, socioeconomic, sexual orientation, and insurance status — deserve equal access to quality health care. An article outlining these goals as they pertain to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community appeared in a recent issue of LGBT Health, a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to promoting optimal healthcare for millions of sexual and gender minority persons worldwide.
