Urban Abbey is a nonprofit, fair trade coffee shop, bookstore, and progressive United Methodist Church in Downtown Omaha’s Old Market. We are a space of inclusion, hospitality, and connection, building relationships and community in our neighborhood and city. Every year we host more than 120 community events on topics such as immigration reform, human trafficking, interfaith dialogue, and healthcare access.
We believe that to explore generosity, we must practice it. Each month we donate 10% of our coffee bar sales to a local nonprofit Community Partner. Since 2011, we have gifted more than $80,000 to do life-giving work in the community to partners such as Nebraska Appleseed, Visiting Nurse Association, and Liberty Elementary School.
Please join us—for a latte made with fresh local dairy milk, to work or study at our reclaimed wood tables, or to explore new ideas and engage in meaningful conversations. All are welcome at Urban Abbey.
We help youth in crisis get back on their feet in whatever ways we can. After meeting their immediate needs for food, shelter, clothing and safety, we create a support system which helps them flourish.
