A new outnebraska.org is coming, and we’re looking for the right partner to build it.
outnebraska.org isn’t just a website. For LGBTQ+ Nebraskans across the state — in Omaha and Lincoln and in communities where support can be hard to find — it’s a front door. It connects people to resources, to community, and to the ability to stand up for themselves and each other. We take that seriously, and we need a developer who does too.
We’re seeking a skilled WordPress developer or small agency to lead a complete ground-up rebuild of outnebraska.org — new architecture, new page builder (Elementor), new custom post types, and a redesigned user experience that actually works for our team, our community, and the urgency of our moment.
This is not a patch job. It’s a full rebuild, and it’s an opportunity to do something that genuinely matters.
About the Project
The new outnebraska.org will be built on WordPress with SiteGround hosting and Elementor as the required page builder. It will include Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for custom content types, full WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance, EveryAction integration for donations, newsletter signups, and event registration, and a suite of high-complexity pages including a revamped Bill Tracker, a searchable Resource Directory, and a community Event Calendar with a staff approval workflow.
Our brand identity — colors, typography, logo — is staying exactly as-is. We’re not looking for a redesign. We’re looking for a developer who can implement our brand beautifully, build functionality that performs under pressure (including during active legislative sessions when our traffic spikes), and hand off a site our staff can actually manage.
Our budget range is $15,000–$25,000, with a target launch in mid-to-late Q3 2026. Payment is structured 33% at kickoff, 33% at midpoint, and 33% at completion.
