OmniArts Nebraska proudly kicks off its 13th season with UTILITIES INCLUDED, written and directed by Jillian Carter.
Charlie, our ace/aro protagonist, goes on a modern-day hero’s journey to find a new roommate, but their path is not without hilarious and disturbing obstacles, sometimes at the same time. Will Charlie find a roommate? Will people ever learn what asexuality is? Will a conspiracy theorist force their way into Charlie’s life? And whose favorite holiday is Easter?! Learn all this and more!
Written to bring some much-needed asexual and aromantic representation to the stage, as well as create accessible and gender-not-specified roles for performers, Jillian Carter has crafted a story both unique and universal. The play makes it okay to laugh at both the silly and the heartbreaking, and to blur the lines between the two.
