Position Description
Working with the Communications Manager, the Marketing Intern will support the marketing and PR efforts of the Prairie Pride Film Festival. The intern will gain experience in content creation/copywriting for social media, electronic and print publication as well as project management. This internship offers 10 hours per week Sept 1 – Oct 18 (7 weeks).
Primary Tasks
- Assists Communications Manager with execution of marketing plan
- Ideation and copywriting for social media, electronic and print publications including but not limited to Facebook and Instagram posts, website, festival program and/or press releases
- Assistance with pre-show video
- Coordination of printing process for print materials
- Assist with maintaining various deadlines for production and placement
- Other tasks as assigned
Candidate Profile
- Superior phone, verbal, and written communication skills
- The ability to engage easily and naturally with anyone and to work effectively with diverse allies, community members, volunteers, and colleagues
- A self-starter attitude with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Detail-oriented work practices
- Collaboration on team efforts
- Management of multiple tasks and deadlines
- This position requires the ability to work remotely and allows for flexibility, however, some hours will be required during typical business hours 9am – 5pm to complete tasks.
Experience/Classes
- Credits equal to sophomore, junior, senior or above
- Classes in marketing/communications concepts
- Experience with Google Drive and Canva (preferred)
Compensation and Benefits
This part-time internship is compensated at $15.00/hr for 10 hours per week not to exceed $1,050.00 total compensation.
