“Every person in Lincoln should be able to live, work and play freely, openly and without the fear of discrimination. We have this shared goal with those who are pursuing a petition campaign to advance legal protections for our community. But we also believe that the best path forward is the one that has support from the widest range of voices within the LGBTQ+ community.
“We believe that bringing forward a petition campaign for a quick vote when anti-trans violence, rhetoric and policies are at an all time high is dangerous and irresponsible.
